Hello, hello!
It's been sometime since I've sent out an email. I do highly encourage you all to follow our social media (Instagram or Facebook) for notices, events, etc. First off, welcome to our new members! I hope you'll find our gym & gym family to be a great addition to your wellness goals! We have some new things happening with water! In the bad news category: flooding issues. For the first time in over 7 years, we have water coming in near the bathroom. The landlord has been informed and is troubleshooting. Given the absurd weather conditions and heavy rains, I am hoping this continues to be a rare occurrence for us. In the GOOD NEWS category: our water fountain has been installed! The Culligan system will be getting picked up. No more waiting for deliveries or giant jugs to carry! (Even though they worked well for farmer carries.) Don't forget that group classes continue throughout the summer! Join Kylie at 4:45am or Tami at 6:00am for great workouts and great company! Details can be found on our website. (link below) Over the last several weeks we held a Step Into Summer event, challenging members to track the MOST steps to win a prize! Overall, participants tracked just under 4 MILLION steps!! Wowza! Our top 3 participants really know how to keep moving! Congratulations to Shevaughn Moore, Jessie Alt, and Janet Harris for walking your way to warmer weather! These ladies have won themselves a prize pack to help their bodies stay active and to keep on racking up those steps including healthy goodies, pampering, and more! Building changes: If you have not already noticed, I moved my office to the top of the stairs. I will be looking into do some space changes/remodeling this summer to make new use of the old space. Wishing you all the best this summer and all the days to come! As of June 1, all COVID restrictions in place at BOM are lifted. Please continue to practice safe and smart hygiene habits.
AutoPay: Automatic payments will be pulled tomorrow, June 3. My apologies for the delay! Warmer months: A reminder that the facility does not have an HVAC system. As the days get warmer, fans will be placed to circulate air productively. I will be bringing the dehumidifier back in this week. As in the past, I do ask members to help keep it empty. :) It can be flushed in the toilet. Referral Program: Our referral program is back! For every 3 friends who join, you will receive a free month! Be sure they give your name when joining! Changes: The impact of living in a pandemic situation affected a lot of us in many ways. As many of you know, I have been working nights to help my own situation. It is always my goal to keep the gym operational for our community, which often means not drawing a salary. The last 18 months will take some time to recover financially, especially as the face of fitness has changed and many people have invested in home gyms and online trainers. The good news is, we are BOM STRONG! The gym is healthy and surviving thanks to loyal members like you. To continue protecting the sustainability and future prosperity of our facility, I have accepted a full-time position and will continue to manage the gym on the side. I am working with peers to manage cleaning, maintenance, and taking over our Fit For Life class. I will continue to be the primary point of contact for all matters. Wishing you all a safe and happy summer!! March Movement Challenge
Our miles challenge last month was a great success! Participants logged a total of over 1600 miles and 325 activities! We want to help you keep up the pace, so watch for another challenge announcement soon! Reserved Gym Time We are continuing to honor the restricted times posted on our website and sent out for March. During these times, you must reserve your zone in the gym. On Monday through Friday, there will be no “central zone” available. Kid Zone Closing I regret to say that I am closing the Kid Space permanently. A once in demand area, it has not truly been utilized since opening. I will be selling off some of the equipment purchased for this area. Children old enough to use the equipment safely are still welcome in the facility. However, no young children should be playing in the gym. If you have questions about age appropriate activity, please reach out. Personal Training Changes Going forward, I am limiting my one-on-one clientele. I am choosing to focus my practice on functional and therapeutic training. I will be working with post-rehab, high risk, and other special populations. This area is very rewarding for me and helps meet my desire to help others live their best life. I am happy to refer members outside of this scope to other trainers. Fit For Life Returns Our 9:00am Fit For Life class will resume this Wednesday, April 7! I am asking participants to use the online registration system for this class. Classes will run every M/W/F through June 4th. I hope you are all enjoying the wonderful spring weather! Stay healthy, friends! A 6th zone has been added in the former kid-zone. This area can be used for suspension training, core, stretch, & free weights.
The reservation system is still in place. Please be sure you are reserving your times! As anticipated, current regulations have been extended until February 6 at midnight. This means that our current reservation and group policies will remain in place.
If I had the ability to space out equipment, I would do this. But we all know that is not an option. I am doing the best I can with the situation we are in. I am extending a zone-sharing option, however. Currently, members of the same household can share zones. I will extend this to all members who currently spend time together outside of the gym. Please limit it to 4 people in a zone, given the close proximity of zones. This is out of respect for members trying to protect their health. Those wishing to share zones - please complete the "group waiver" on our class page. I will continue to evaluate ways to create more usable space. BREAKING GUIDELINES: I have discovered members using the gym without reservations, changing zones, and crossing zones. This is NOT allowed without approval of the person who has the zone reserved. While in the gym, it is VERY easy to pull up the reservation system and see if the space is available. (And reserve it.) Believe it or not, I hate setting rules. But I do love keeping my doors open for our community. Rules created means rules enforced. I cannot think about a handful of members. I have to think about 200+ people. I hear you all and do my best to make the best decisions for the masses AND for the survival of BOM. Respect the rules and the BOM community or memberships will be suspended. Again, my most sincere thanks to all of you for your patience as we navigate this unusual time and do our best to get through. |
